Food on Purpose! Review and GIVEAWAY

14 Feb

The other day when I was demoing Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter I got to talking with the guy at the booth next to me.

Turns out Paul is the owner of Food on Purpose!, who makes a whole variety of raw packaged foods.

He was kind enough to send me home with some product to review.

Note: This is only a sampling of their line. Food on Purpose! offers many different products.

Most of their products are: gluten-free, dairy-free, organic, wheat-free, and vegan. Plus each item is chock full of one or more superfoods.

Let the reviewing commence

Choco Roonies – (Their most popular item) So incredibly moist with an amazing texture. Made with raw cacao. Paul made a fabulous suggestion of pairing the choco roonies with Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter. Ohh yea that’s a deadly combination. The vanilla flavor definitely brought out the hint of vanilla in the roonie.

Nori Crisps – I think these are hands down my favorite out of everything. Mostly because they are so unique. I have never seen or tasted anything quite like it. In the middle of the seaweed there is a small mound of a brazil nut mixture (with maca and garlic)  that gives it the most complex taste. And it doesn’t hurt that they’re super good for ya.

These were a favorite of Addie’s too. She loved the brazil nut mixture the best.

Flaxies-  As we all know I’m a big sucker for texture. And you’ve been following me for a while you know my history with Flax. So before I even tasted this I was kinda already sold. This is a great alternative to a dip chip. It is super crunchy and sturdy to hold any kind of dip. It also had this great earthy taste.

Santa Fe FlaxiesSundried Tomato and Jalapeno- This flavor just screamed “New Mexico” to me. It was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. There’s no need to grab a glass of water or anything like that. The other flavors complimented it nice and still give me my slightly spicy kick that I love.

Addie said she could eat these every day and that they were very satisfying.

Birds in a Nest- These are adorable. As a foodie I love a good show and these are aesthetically pleasing. Plus I’m in love with the name. Yet another good ingredient list. These were a bit more crunchy than the choco roonies. Depending on if you’re a chocolate person or not I think that’s the deciding factor between the two.

The thing I loved about all of his product is that they are stuffed with superfoods. cacao, maca, brazil nuts. After reading Thrive Foods I completely understand these ingredients and their importance

You can currently find Food on Purpose! in Whole Foods in California, New Mexico, Utah, Kansas, Colorado, and coming soon to Texas. You can also purchase them on their website.

The one thing I have added to my diet on your recommendation is Barlean’s Omega 3. I got the orange cream and add it to honey flavored Chobani Greek yogurt. Delicious!

So yummy in yogurt. That’s usually how I eat it too, except in plain greek yogurt!

One of my favorite raw foods are my RAW Chocolate Chip cookies; those are deadly. I would totally dip those choco-roonies in nut butter. :D

I think its scary to try the whole raw food thing at first, but there are a ton of great products and restaurants out there. Plus most raw foods have way more nutrients in them

I love raw veggies and fruits but don’t buy the raw snacks that often because they are so costly. I tend to stick to the basics when it comes to raw food but I do not mind splurging on a good raw dessert every now and then
