Hot Soggy Weetbix

25 Jan

For some reason American Weetbix is just not the same as Australia Weetbix. First, it’s kind of rounded. Also it’s not as dense.

But hey, I’m happy to have some version of it in the states. I’ll take what I can get. :)

This one aint pretty, but it warmed my soul after my cold walk back from spin class.

After one long night out in Melbourne and a quick visit to the late meals room, I learned what can be better than soggy Weetbix in milk. HOT soggy Weetbix in milk.

Start off the normal was and add some milk to the weetbix. I was just having a little snack but if you’re looking for something more filling up it to two weetbix at the least.

With an appearance by Almond Breeze’s new Almond Coconut milk

(For the record: I was unimpressed by this milk on its own. Definitely sticking with Whole Foods brand unsweetened almond milk!)

Put it in the microwave until it just begins to bubble.

Then add any jam, syrup, or sweetener you’d like if any.

Jam of choice was Crofter’s Asia Flavor

The New Prada and Gucci

13 Jan

As we all know. I miss my Melbourne coffee like a Coloradan misses the mountains.

I have been trying to drink brewed coffee, but I just can’t fake it. And my pockets are not deep enough to support a coffee shop addiction.

I have an 8 am class twice a week and have six hours of class total on those days.

I am weak, I need some hard caffeine to get me through it!

Enter Mexican Instant Espresso:

My savior!

It’s nothing like a fresh long black, but its stronger than filter coffee and it gets the job done.

How else am I surviving as a vegetarian on a college students busy schedule?

yayyy for weird vego foods!

Chia Seeds, Chocolate Amazing Grass, Amazing Meal in Vanilla Chai, and Amazing Grass Chocolate SuperFood Bars

I swear by these bars. They are chock full of fruit and veg and they keep my stomach at bay and my mind sharp the whole day.

Theres also some flax, coconut oil, and a whole bunch of other odd thing strewn around the kitchen in our apartment.

These are my go to’s to add-on to yogurt etc… when I’m in a rush and don’t have time to make a proper meal.

I’m going to go into a baking frenzy this weekend so I’ll be fully stocked to bring my lunch/snacks to class with me so I don’t keel over!

This was possibly the best post class snack ever as I was starving!

Laughing Cow Cheese and Crofters Superfruit Spread in ‘Asia’ on a Rudi’s Organic English Muffin Spelt

Sometimes I’m big on the brand names.

No, not Prada or Gucci. I could care less about those.

I’m talkin’ about Rudi and Crofter, baby.

Crofter’s Superfruit spread have just the right amount of tangy sourness that plays well off of the cheese and yeasty bread.

I like my toast crunchy and I also like my bread rather yeasty. The Spelt English Muffins were to perfection.

Toast, Spread, Consume.
